Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Stacey witnessed a wide variety of local planning problems such as the loss of small family farms to urban sprawl, failing local businesses on main street, demolished historic sites and the loss of forest lands. She became inspired to understand the connection between planning efforts to improve livability and market realities. After earning a BA in economics and environmental studies from Western Washington University she went on to earn a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University. Stacey also pursued a graduate certificate in real estate development from PSU in order to broaden her planning approach. Stacey is a licensed real estate broker in the states of Oregon and Washington. Stacey is currently working as an Assistant Property Manager for Elliott Associates in Portland Oregon. She assists in the management of 1.9 million square feet of commercial real estate in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, North Dakota, Idaho and Utah. She is currently volunteering her time as the co-chair of the 2012 PNWIS Conference planning committee for the Oregon Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association. A&WMA is a professional, non-profit, organization that promotes global environmental responsibility and increases the effectiveness of organizations to make critical decisions that benefit society.
