BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Stacey has had exposure to a wide variety of local planning issues, such as the loss of small family farms to urban sprawl, struggling local businesses on Main Street, demolished historic sites and the loss of forest lands.

Over her 15 year career she has worked in several industries, including DotCom, banking and pharmaceuticals, but her true passion is improving the environment by building better communities.  She aims to conserve natural resources through responsible real estate development using Smart Growth planning and green building strategies.  She is committed to preserving and improving existing communities by employing strategies that grow the regional economy, clean up and redevelop Brownfield properties, protect community character and enhance the role of schools in creating vibrant neighborhoods.  Stacey is also interested in environmentally conscious commercial property management to shift spending from energy and waste management to business development that increases profits.

Using solid analytical skills and a pragmatic approach to sustainability endeavors, Stacey offers real-world solutions to complex problems.  She combines skillful macro-level goal setting with detail-oriented management to produce high-quality results.  She earned a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from Western Washington University and will be graduating with a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate Development from Portland State University in June of 2010.

She currently holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association.  A&WMA is a professional, non-profit, organization that promotes global environmental responsibility and increases the effectiveness of organizations to make critical decisions that benefit society.
